Harrisburg Men’s Chorus Sponsors Screening of “Bullied” May 23

The Harrisburg Men’s Chorus and Unitarian Universalists of the Cumberland Valley will hold a screening of the new documentary, “Bullied,” produced by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The documentary film screens May 23, 7 p.m., Unitarian Universalists of the Cumberland Valley Church, 2 Forge Road, Boiling Springs, PA 17007. Admission is free.

The documentary focuses on the story of Jamie Nabozny, a young person that was subjected to relentless antigay verbal and physical abuse by fellow students at his public high school in Ashland, Wisconsin. Jamie filed suit against the school and Lambda Legal took his case before a federal appeals court and won (Nabozny v. Podlesny). The evening will include musical selections by the Harrisburg Men’s Chorus and a screening of the documentary followed by a discussion/Q&A session led by Nabozny in person.

A period of light refreshments after the program will allow for further discussion and personal conversation with Nabozny. Funding for this event was provided by the Carlisle Area Health & Wellness Foundation.
