Transgender Day of Remembrance

About 30 people gathered Nov. 20, 2009 on the steps of the Pennsylvania state capitol for “Transgender Day of Remembrance”. The event was organized by TransCentral PA, Harrisburg’s MCC of the Spirit Church, and the LGBT Community Center Coalition. Twelve volunteer readers, each holding a lit candle, read a short bio of a transgender person killed because they were different. Each reader then blew out the candle to commemorate the life lost.
