2009 Pride & Parade Huge Success – PHOTOS GALORE!

2009 Pride Festival & Parade of Central PA came off today without as much as a piece of lint in its way. Thousands thronged downtown Harrisburg for the region’s biggest lgbt event of the year.

The venue drew more sitting elected officials and individuals running for office than there were beads. Due to the state budget snafu, Gov. Ed Rendell did not make his annual walk in the parade.

Central Voice correspondent Sophonda Cox confirmed today that she is working on an exclusive interview with John Harris, after whom the capitol city is named, and who is buried smack dab in the middle of the event. “I’m sure readers are curious about his views on gay civil rights and how he feels about having the event tale place all around his fenced in grave,” Cox said.
